Tempest Group

Tempest Group is a unit of the Reconnaissance Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade.

The group was formed in late 2024 by veterans of Chosen Company, a popular foreign unit that gained notoriety for its operations throughout the full-scale invasion. Chosen Company was initially under the subordination of the 59th Motorized Brigade, and would then later go on to be reassigned to the 49th Special Purpose Detachment of the Alpha Unit inside the Security Service of Ukraine, where it would begin to become a hybrid drone-assault unit.

However, in late 2024, many members had left Chosen Company and banded together to form a new foreign reconnaissance group within the Reconnaissance Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade.

It is an all-English-speaking unit, with foreign fighters coming from all over the world, including Britain, France, the United States, Canada, Argentina, Germany, Australia, and Ukraine. The requirements for the units are extremely strict, with members being required to have prior military experience and expertise. Many of its fighters have experience from recent wars, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Burma, and the Ukrainian conflict.

Insignia

The insignia depicts an Azov-style chevron, commonly used throughout the brigade, in a black and gray color scheme. The central imagery of the insignia was a circular pattern of three hawks, suggesting a reconnaissance-based theme which could also resemble a spinning tornado, alluding back to its name.
