Recently, a number of reforms took place within the Lyut Assault Brigade of the National Police of Ukraine. On February 2, 2026, it was announced that the Safari Assault Regiment, which is subordinated to the brigade, would be reorganized. As part of the reform, the Enei Special Operations Battalion was merged into the regiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision to merge the units was initiated by the brigade\u2019s new commander, Serhii Kurylenko, and was aimed at combining the strengths of both formations. The reform seeks to unite the specialized capabilities of Enei\u2019s special forces with Safari\u2019s experience in assault and defensive operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the restructuring, Safari has transformed into a multi-role unit that combines assault infantry with a wide range of technical capabilities, including strike and reconnaissance UAVs, ground drones, armored vehicles, and its own logistical support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enei, on the hand, has been reformed into Unmanned Systems Battalion Kruk of the regiment. The task of the new unit is to provide reconnaissance, defeat the enemy, and reliable logistical support for its own and adjacent units in real combat conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of 2025, another unit was formed within the brigade \u2014 the Poltava Assault Battalion. The unit continues the legacy of the Poltava Police Battalion, which was established in April 2014 and participated in battles in eastern Ukraine. The Poltava Police Battalion was disbanded in 2023, and its personnel were transferred to the Lyut Assault Brigade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
