It was formed at some point in 2025, with the formation becoming publicly known in September 2025 due to the launching of its social channels. The command of the Kursk Grouping is made up from the 8-\u0439 \u0434\u0435\u0441\u0430\u043d\u0442\u043d\u043e-\u0448\u0442\u0443\u0440\u043c\u043e\u0432\u0438\u0439 \u043a\u043e\u0440\u043f\u0443\u0441<\/a> of the Ukrainian Air Assault Troops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under its command, a variety of units across different branches of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are present, including the 71st Airmobile<\/a>, 78th Air Assault<\/a>, 80th Air Assault<\/a>, 95th Air Assault<\/a>, 103rd Territorial Defense<\/a>, 117th Heavy Mechanized Brigades<\/a>, \u0430 \u0442\u0430\u043a\u043e\u0436 425th Unmanned Systems Regiment<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is commanded by \u0414\u043c\u0438\u0442\u0440\u043e \u0412\u043e\u043b\u043e\u0448\u0438\u043d<\/a>, the former commander of the 82-\u0430 \u0434\u0435\u0441\u0430\u043d\u0442\u043d\u043e-\u0448\u0442\u0443\u0440\u043c\u043e\u0432\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a>, and now the commander of the 8th Air Assault Corps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The insignia illustrates a chevron in theme with the Ukrainian Air Assault Troops, with a silver grey border and maroon canvas.
