The Ukrainian Ground Forces are establishing a new artillery unit, the 52nd Artillery Brigade, according to a fundraising announcement shared by volunteers supporting the formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brigade is being created within the 3rd Army Corps, which is built around the 3rd Assault Brigade and commanded by Andriy Biletskyi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This marks the 14th standard artillery brigade in the Ground Forces. Since all regular artillery brigades are being assigned to army corps, the branch now appears to have one more brigade than usual. This suggests that the 49th Artillery Brigade<\/a>\u2014originally formed in 2022, later disbanded, reactivated in 2024, and possibly disbanded again\u2014may no longer exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The leadership of the 3rd Army Corps<\/a>, also known as \u201cTroika,\u201d has initiated a rebranding of all subordinate units to match the design style of the 3rd Assault Brigade, the formation on which the corps was originally based. The changes were revealed through the official social media accounts of each unit and observed at recent awards ceremonies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 53rd Mechanized Brigade<\/a> retains the coat of arms of Prince Volodymyr Monomakh, but the original green heraldic shield with blue edging has been replaced by the standard Troika-style chevron. The 1st Mechanized Battalion and Motorized Battalion have also received updated emblems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

The 60th Mechanized Brigade<\/a> has completely redesigned its insignia. While the lion motif was retained, it appears in a new design. The brigade\u2019s 1st Mechanized Battalion and Motorized Battalion were also issued new emblems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 125th Heavy Mechanized Brigade<\/a> has similarly updated its insignia to the Troika style. The 2nd Mechanized Battalion and Medical Company also received updated variants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only units directly subordinated to the 3rd Army Corps that have not yet adopted the new style are the 63rd Mechanized Brigade<\/a>, which was recently rebranded<\/a>, and the 52nd Artillery Brigade<\/a>.
