After months of quiet preparation, it has finally been made public \u2014 the formation of a new unit within the Air Defense Forces of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. On March 15, 2025<\/strong>, the 1027th Anti-Aircraft Missile and Artillery Regiment<\/strong> was officially established on the basis of a previously existing anti-aircraft missile and artillery battalion of the 101st Brigade for the Protection of the General Staff<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This significant transformation marks a new chapter in the unit's history, reflecting its rapid growth, operational maturity, and expanding capabilities. \u201cWe\u2019re growing, we\u2019re maturing \u2014 we are now a regiment,\u201d<\/em> the announcement declared<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The newly formed 1027th Regiment continues the critical mission it began as a battalion: protecting vital infrastructure, shielding Ukrainian forces on the frontlines, and covering missile-threatened directions across the country.
