He began his career as a platoon commander in the now-disbanded 331st Artillery Regiment and later held positions as a company and battalion commander. In 2005, he took part in a peacekeeping mission in Iraq. By 2014, he was serving as the deputy commander of the 80th Air Assault Brigade and was deployed to Donbas. In 2021, Kurash became the commander of the 25th Airmobile Brigade, leading it during the offensive in Kharkiv Oblast. This was reported by the corps and the brigade alike on their respective official media channels. Since then, there <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/news\/all-you-need-to-know-about-kharkivs-army-corps\/\">have been indications<\/a> that the 41st Mechanized Brigade might join the 16th Army Corps, but these remained unconfirmed until recently.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>As Ukraine\u2019s shift to a corps-brigade structure takes shape, many units have seen their assignments reconsidered. MilitaryLand previously noted that the 22nd Mechanized Brigade and the 154th Mechanized Brigade were initially expected to join the 16th Army Corps, but, for reasons that were unclear at the time, this did not happen. Things have changed.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>It is now known that the 41st Mechanized Brigade and the 154th Mechanized Brigade have been assigned to the 16th Army Corps.
