The formation had also received its own unique insignia, but was later rejected in the process of adopting it as the corps chevron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June 2025, the corps would adopt a new insignia, but it was later replaced with a compromise between the initial and new designs. In July 2025, it became known that the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/129th-territorial-defense-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"18780\">129-\u0442\u0430 \u043e\u043a\u0440\u0435\u043c\u0430 \u0432\u0430\u0436\u043a\u0430 \u043c\u0435\u0445\u0430\u043d\u0456\u0437\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a> would join the corps, which was initially known as the 129th Territorial Defense Brigade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In October, the commander of the corps was revealed to be Colonel Ruslan Shevchuk, holding a promising service history, being the former commander of two highly well-regarded brigades, namely the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/58th-motorized-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"14256\">58-\u0430 \u043c\u043e\u0442\u043e\u0440\u0438\u0437\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u0430<\/a> \u0456 <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/93rd-mechanized-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"15153\">93-\u0442\u044f \u043c\u0435\u0445\u0430\u043d\u0456\u0437\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It would later be revealed that the combat composition of the corps entailed the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/10th-mountain-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"11883\">10-\u0442\u0430 \u0433\u0456\u0440\u0441\u044c\u043a\u043e-\u0448\u0442\u0443\u0440\u043c\u043e\u0432\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a>, \u0432 \"The <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/44th-artillery-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"16673\">44-\u0430 \u0430\u0440\u0442\u0438\u043b\u0435\u0440\u0456\u0439\u0441\u044c\u043a\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/143rd-mechanized-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"21813\">143-\u0439<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/144th-mechanized-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"21815\">144th<\/a>, \u0456 <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/158th-mechanized-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"31871\">158th Mechanized Brigade&#8217;s<\/a>, \u0430 \u0442\u0430\u043a\u043e\u0436 <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/434th-battalion-of-unmanned-systems\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"60976\">434-\u0439 \u0431\u0430\u0442\u0430\u043b\u044c\u0439\u043e\u043d \u0431\u0435\u0437\u043f\u0456\u043b\u043e\u0442\u043d\u0438\u0445 \u0441\u0438\u0441\u0442\u0435\u043c<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u0412\u0456\u0434\u0437\u043d\u0430\u043a\u0438<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The insignia depicts a chevron with a green canvas and a yellow border. Its central imagery depicts the corps designation in Roman numerals, combining yellow and white, with the peak of the chevron containing a red quadrant, topped with a white Cossack cross in the We <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/news\/the-formation-of-the-3rd-army-corps-is-underway\/\">recently covered<\/a> the establishment of the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/3rd-army-corps\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"44237\">3rd Army Corps<\/a> on the basis of the 3rd Assault Brigade; with the commander being Andriy Biletskiy,<a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/news\/khartia-serves-as-basis-for-the-new-army-corps\/\"> as well as a corps being<\/a> formed on the basis of the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/national-guard\/khartia-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"18810\">Khartia Brigade<\/a> of the Ukrainian National Guard.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>It has been discovered that the command is forming several new Army Corps units; these being - the 15th, 18th, and 20th Army Corps. Information on these formations is scarce, though it is known that two of them have received their insignia, and the first-mentioned is based in Rivne Oblast. There is no information currently regarding which units will be subordinated to them, or otherwise whom their commander may be. <\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The 15th and 20th Army Corps have each received a unique insignia, shown below. This was also acknowledged by President Zelenskyy; stating that the process of forming corps needed to be sped up. It is also important to note that previously existing corps in the history of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, such as the 13th Army Corps, are unlikely to be raised up again. Thanks to our contributor davomme, we also had an exclusive high-quality redrawn version of the corps\u2019 insignia. However, we later learned that this insignia was never officially approved and that a new design is currently being created.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Today, the new insignia of the 15th Army Corps was unveiled through the unit\u2019s official social media accounts, along with the launch of its new social media pages. The <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/territorial-defense-forces\/1st-special-purpose-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"15903\">1st Territorial Defense Brigade<\/a> was also active around the northern border and appears to be temporarily assigned under the corps. More recently, the corps' social channels also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/15armycorps\/posts\/pfbid02u4DGguTK9Gh9ychNeTPV7Zc99B4zEJZ2Jmz4KbVp9bHFwv66ieSxwKfmcwFiK5PTl\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/15armycorps\/posts\/pfbid02u4DGguTK9Gh9ychNeTPV7Zc99B4zEJZ2Jmz4KbVp9bHFwv66ieSxwKfmcwFiK5PTl\">confirmed <\/a>that the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/border-guards\/chernihiv-border-detachment\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"35205\">Chernihiv Border Detachment<\/a> was temporarily assigned under its command.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The 10th Mountain Assault Brigade reportedly helped to form the basis of the corps and continues to carry out combat operations in the Siversk direction. The <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/44th-artillery-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"16673\">44th Artillery Brigade<\/a>, previously part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/17th-army-corps\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"45088\">17th Army Corps<\/a>, was recently reassigned to the 15th Army Corps following the newly established <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/54th-artillery-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"63941\">54th Artillery Brigade<\/a>. The brigade continues to provide support in the Zaporizhzhia direction, fighting in the Orikhiv direction.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Newly formed units such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/129th-territorial-defense-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"18780\">129th Heavy Mechanized Brigade<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/158th-mechanized-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"31871\">158th Mechanized Brigade<\/a> have also been assigned to the corps, with both units predominantly fighting in Sumy Oblast, and some elements of the 129th fighting in Kharkiv Oblast, with elements now starting to enter the rear. The central imagery included the coats of arms of the city of Rivne at the peak of the insignia, and the cross from the coats of arms of Rivne Oblast, western Ukraine, at the bottom, surrounded by a sword and scepter.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>However, MilitaryLand was later contacted by the communications department of the 15th Army Corps, which stated that the insignia had not been officially approved and that a new one would be issued.
