The “Raroh” drone unit was established as a company inside the 24-\u0442\u0430 \u043c\u0435\u0445\u0430\u043d\u0456\u0437\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a>, and led by Hero of Ukraine Oleh \u201cHasan\u201d Huit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The core of the unit consists of combat-experienced service members who progressed from infantry roles to drone specialists, as well as narrowly focused experts with strong civilian skill sets adapted to the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The unit distinguished itself through high effectiveness during the defense of Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and New York, and grown up to battalion level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2025 Raroh battalion was expanded and reorganized<\/a> into the 427th Regiment of Unmanned Systems of the Ground Forces, officially separating from the 24th Mechanized Brigade. Following such reform, 23-\u0439 \u0431\u0430\u0442\u0430\u043b\u044c\u0439\u043e\u043d \u0441\u043f\u0435\u0446\u0456\u0430\u043b\u044c\u043d\u043e\u0433\u043e \u043f\u0440\u0438\u0437\u043d\u0430\u0447\u0435\u043d\u043d\u044f<\/a> left \u041f\u0440\u0435\u0437\u0438\u0434\u0435\u043d\u0442\u0441\u044c\u043a\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a> and was reorganized as the new 2nd battalion of the regiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rarog drone unit of the 24th Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces and the Phoenix drone unit of the Pomsta Brigade of the Border Guards have been expanded into regiments, as announced on their official social media accounts here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rarog has been expanded and reorganized into the 427th Regiment of Unmanned Systems of the Ground Forces, officially separating from the 24th Mechanized Brigade. The numerical designation of the Phoenix unit remains unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also today, Rarog and Phoenix, along with the recently expanded 20th Regiment K-2, the 429th Regiment Achilles, and the 414th Brigade Birds of Madyar, announced a joint initiative titled \"Power of Drones.\"<\/a> The project aims to recruit both civilians and military personnel, led by respected commanders who built their drone units from the ground up\u2014progressing from companies to battalions and now to independent regiments and a brigade.
