It was formed in Odesa in 2024 as part of the Ukrainian Army’s transition to a corps-based command structure. Shortly after its establishment, the battalion was assigned to the 19th Army Corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The battalion is organized around four anti-tank companies equipped with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) and anti-tank guns. Additional elements include a fire support company equipped with mortars, SPG-9 recoilless guns, and AGS-17 automatic grenade launchers, as well as technical, medical, and logistics units. It also includes the Vulcan Strike Company, an unmanned aerial systems unit responsible for reconnaissance and strike missions in support of anti-tank operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The battalion is structured to conduct independent operations and emphasizes mobility, allowing it to rapidly redeploy, occupy new firing positions, and engage enemy armored vehicles from unexpected directions. Personnel complete basic military training before receiving specialized instruction within their assigned subunits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The unit is equipped with a range of Soviet- and Western-designed anti-tank weapons, including SPG-9 recoilless guns, RPGs, Stuhna-P and Korsar anti-tank guided missile systems, as well as FGM-148 Javelin and NLAW anti-tank weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since joining the 19th Army Corps in July 2025, the battalion has operated in the Donetsk sector, where it has supported defensive operations by engaging Russian armored vehicles and providing anti-tank fire in coordination with reconnaissance and drone units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has emerged that the first two units have officially joined the newly formed 19th Army Corps of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. This was published over the past few week on the unit's official Facebook page<\/a>, with the first units to join being the 39th Unmanned Systems Battalion<\/a> and the 94th Anti-Tank Battalion<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 94th Anti-Tank Battalion was likely formed around late 2023 to early 2024, with a fundraiser <\/a>pointing to the unit fighting in eastern Ukraine. The corps published that the battalion was recruiting. The 39th Battalion of Unmanned Systems was likely formed recently to help elevate the use of drones on the corps level. It was first known to be part of the corps in mid-July 2025, published on the unit's Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is now likely that each corps will be receiving an anti-tank battalion in its structure, with the first known battalion, the 91st Anti-Tank Battalion<\/a>, being assigned to the 16th Army Corps<\/a> - better known as the Kharkiv army corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the corps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The corps was first revealed by MilitaryLand<\/a> back in early May 2025. The corps is commanded by Brigadier General Oleksandr Bakulin, who previously commanded the 57th Motorized Brigade<\/a> and the Presidential Brigade<\/a>.
