Taifun is a special-purpose unmanned systems unit of the National Guard.<\/p>\n

The unit was established in May 2024 as the Special-Purpose Unmanned Systems Detachment “Typhoon”. In July 2024, it was transferred to the 22-\u0433\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Following the Ukrainian military’s transition to a corps-based organizational structure, the detachment joined the 2-\u0439 \u043a\u043e\u0440\u043f\u0443\u0441 \u0425\u0430\u0440\u0442\u0456\u044f<\/a>. During this period, it continued to operate as an separate unmanned systems formation while retaining its own command structure and traditions.<\/p>\n

In May 2026, the unit entered a new stage in its development when it became part of the Pilum Regiment<\/a> of the 1st Azov Corps. Despite its incorporation into the regiment, the Typhoon Special Purpose Battalion retained its name, leadership, and unit traditions while continuing combat operations as a component of the regiment’s unmanned systems force.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
