It promised fair treatment and adequate conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In April 2025, the brigade appointed a new commander, with the former unit commander, Colonel Volodymyr Babanyn, being replaced by Colonel Vyacheslav Husinky, although the reason for the rotation was unclear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eventually, Husinky would be replaced by Colonel Valeriy Semenets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By December 2025, while still in the process of formation, despite being formed over a year ago, the brigade&#8217;s 1st Mechanized Battalion was temporarily subordinated to the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/air-assault-forces\/71st-jaeger-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"14862\">71-\u0430 \u0454\u0433\u0435\u0440\u0441\u044c\u043a\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a> in Sumy Oblast and deployed to predominantly second-line defensive positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional elements of the brigade were seconded to the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/23rd-mechanized-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"17789\">23-\u0442\u044f \u043c\u0435\u0445\u0430\u043d\u0456\u0437\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a> near the village of Orestopil in the Pokrovsk direction. In January 2026, the majority of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion and elements of the brigade&#8217;s 3rd Mechanized Battalion were transferred to the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/skala-assault-battalion\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"17805\">425-\u0439 \u0448\u0442\u0443\u0440\u043c\u043e\u0432\u0438\u0439 \u043f\u043e\u043b\u043a \u201c\u0421\u043a\u0435\u043b\u044f\u201d<\/a>, as well as to the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/155th-mechanized-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"31493\">155-\u0442\u0430 \u043c\u0435\u0445\u0430\u043d\u0456\u0437\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a>, both of which were performing combat operations in the settlement of Hryshyne in the Pokrovsk direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of the brigade&#8217;s personnel attached to these formations were involved in attempts to retake lost positions near Pokrovsk, sustaining significant losses in the process. <sub><sup> <\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/news\/160th-mechanized-brigade-used-to-fill-gaps-in-other-units\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/news\/160th-mechanized-brigade-used-to-fill-gaps-in-other-units\/\">Learn more in this MilitaryLand\u00a0article<\/a><\/sub><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u0412\u0456\u0434\u0437\u043d\u0430\u043a\u0438<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The insignia displays a traditional chevron with a blue canvas and a subdued olive border. At its center stands a bold white shield, bearing a prominent red upright cross, extending through the design. The central cross is derived from the historical banner of the Kingdom of Rus, associated with King Yuriy I of the Halych-Volhynia, serving as a symbol of continuinity, honor, and the enduring The unit, which aimed to attract Ukrainian civilians living abroad with promises of fair treatment, training in Poland, and adequate conditions, has increasingly been used to reinforce other formations.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>By December 2025, while still in the process of formation, the brigade\u2019s 1st Mechanized Battalion was seconded to the 71st Jaeger Brigade in Sumy Oblast. The battalion was deployed mainly to second-line defensive positions, with a few exceptions. At the same time, additional elements of the brigade were seconded to the 23rd Mechanized Brigade.
