From its remnants, a new formation\u2014the 3rd Airmobile Battalion of the same brigade\u2014was created. The change was confirmed by the unit\u2019s official Instagram account<\/a> and the official Facebook page of the 81st Airmobile Brigade. After more than a decade, 122nd Airmobile Battalion ends its path as a separate unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

The 122nd Airmobile Battalion was originally formed in 2014 on the basis of the 3rd Airmobile Battalion of the 80th Air Assault Brigade. It took part in the defense of Donetsk Airport, holding its positions until the very last days of the battle. Since the beginning of Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion in 2022, the battalion had defended Izyum, Sievierodonetsk, and Rubizhne, and later took part in the liberation of Lyman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
