In the early stages of formation, the brigade lacked sufficient equipment and relied in part on captured T-62 tanks and BRDM-2 vehicles to fill capability gaps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Colonel Oleksandr Shcherbina was appointed as the brigade&#8217;s first commander and led the formation until June 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In September 2024, the brigade began to receive M1117 armored vehicles, and later supplemented with T-64BV tanks and BMP infantry fighting vehicle, strengthening its mechanized components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In August 2025, the brigade was assigned to the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/16th-army-corps\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"45510\">16-\u0439 \u0430\u0440\u043c\u0456\u0439\u0441\u044c\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u043a\u043e\u0440\u043f\u0443\u0441<\/a>, a highly experienced corps formed on the basis of officers from the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ua\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/92nd-mechanized-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"15636\">92-\u0430 \u0448\u0442\u0443\u0440\u043c\u043e\u0432\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a>, and concentrated in Kharkiv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brigade has been increasingly pulled apart, with its personnel reassigned to other formations such as the assault regiments in its operational sectors, paving way for questions as to whether the unit should continue to exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u0412\u0456\u0434\u0437\u043d\u0430\u043a\u0438<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The insignia depicts a chevron split in half, with a green canvas on the left, and a bright blue canvas on the right, with a yellow border nestling the chevron. At its core lies a horseshoe in yellow colours, adorned by a Cossack cross at its peak. This was reported by the corps and the brigade alike on their respective official media channels. Since then, there <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/news\/all-you-need-to-know-about-kharkivs-army-corps\/\">have been indications<\/a> that the 41st Mechanized Brigade might join the 16th Army Corps, but these remained unconfirmed until recently.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>As Ukraine\u2019s shift to a corps-brigade structure takes shape, many units have seen their assignments reconsidered. MilitaryLand previously noted that the 22nd Mechanized Brigade and the 154th Mechanized Brigade were initially expected to join the 16th Army Corps, but, for reasons that were unclear at the time, this did not happen. Things have changed.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>It is now known that the 41st Mechanized Brigade and the 154th Mechanized Brigade have been assigned to the 16th Army Corps. This was confirmed with the corps publishing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/16ArmyCorps\/videos\/2264300747359682\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/16ArmyCorps\/videos\/2264300747359682\">training footage from the 41st Brigade<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=1248653070066170\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=1248653070066170\">footage inside a drone workshop from the 154th Brigade on the corps'<\/a> official Facebook page.
