The 1st Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces is a military unit of the \u0421\u0438\u043b\u0438 \u0431\u0435\u0437\u043f\u0456\u043b\u043e\u0442\u043d\u0438\u0445 \u0441\u0438\u0441\u0442\u0435\u043c<\/a>, the biggest and most specialized in Deep Strike operations, and veteran formation in reconnaissance and strike missions along the entire front line, employing a broad range of unmanned systems at the operational-tactical and strategic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In summer of 2022, former Commander-in-Chief of the \u0417\u0431\u0440\u043e\u0439\u043d\u0456 \u0441\u0438\u043b\u0438<\/a>, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, decided to create a separate experimental formation that would focus exclusively on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).
The unit was established in October 2022 as a separate battalion of the 190-\u0439 \u043d\u0430\u0432\u0447\u0430\u043b\u044c\u043d\u0438\u0439 \u0446\u0435\u043d\u0442\u0440<\/a>, and based on a group of \u0421\u0438\u043b\u0438 \u0441\u043f\u0435\u0446\u0456\u0430\u043b\u044c\u043d\u0438\u0445 \u043e\u043f\u0435\u0440\u0430\u0446\u0456\u0439<\/a> (SOF) veterans, led by a former officer of 3rd SOF regiment <\/a>with the nickname “Fidel”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The world\u2019s first experimental Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) battalion began its combat service and quickly demonstrated its effectiveness. The the first deep strikes struck enemy logistics hubs at a depth of 120 km on the Kherson axis. This greatly complicated the supply of the occupation forces on the left bank of the Dnipro, and created the preconditions for the successful counteroffensive that brought the liberation of Kherson and the northen bank of the river.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 22, 2023, the unit was officially expanded and designated as the 14th Separate Regiment of Unmanned Drones and under the new commander “Charlie”, another former 3rd SOF regiment officer, while “Fidel” continued the development and institutionalization of unmanned systems at the strategic level for the General Staff of the Armed Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the summer of that year, the regiment partecipated in the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the Zaporizhzhia oblast<\/a>, while in the following winter helped in the defence of the Avdiivka sector of the front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 22 July of 2024 the unit formerly joined the newly established Unmanned Systems Forces branch<\/a> of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From August, aliquotes of the regiment took part in the ukranian offensive operation in the Kursk region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2024 the 14th regiment conducted successful strikes against russian airfields like Kushchevskyi (20.03.2024), Morozovsk (13.06.2024), and Lipetsk (09.08.2024), and also artillery arsenals, like the ammunition depot in Tikhoretsk (20.09.2024) and the 67th GRAU arsenal in the Bryansk region (08.10.2024).
In 2025 the formation organized more than 50 successful operations against russian oil infrastructures, managing to halt 38% of its oil refining capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 2, 2025, it was announced that the regiment had been expanded and reorganized as the 1st Center <\/a>\u043f\u0440\u043e \u0440\u043e\u0437\u0448\u0438\u0440\u0435\u043d\u043d\u044f \u0421\u0438\u043b\u0438 \u0431\u0435\u0437\u043f\u0456\u043b\u043e\u0442\u043d\u0438\u0445 \u0441\u0438\u0441\u0442\u0435\u043c<\/a>, based on 3 linea battalions.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
