61st Rifle Battalion was a separate unit of Ukrainian Ground Forces, formed on the basis of Regional Territorial Center in Kyiv. The formation was initiated on May 28, 2022 and completed on July 1, 2022. From July to November, the unit performed a combat mission for the security and defense of the state border in the Chernihiv Oblast. During this time, the 1st and 2nd companies each fought for three months in the Vuhledar sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From November 7, 2023, to September 2024, the battalion was deployed to the vicinity of Kupyansk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On December 24, 2024, the battalion was reformed into the 2nd linear rifle battalion of 44-\u0430 \u043c\u0435\u0445\u0430\u043d\u0456\u0437\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a> and the separate unit ceased to exist.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
