The brigade was formed in 2023 on the basis of the remnants of an unidentified battalion that had sustained heavy casualties and was subsequently disbanded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A formation bearing the same designation previously existed within the Ground Forces. In 2000, a 22nd Mechanized Brigade was created as part of the downsizing of the 66th Mechanized Division. However, that formation has no relationship to the current brigade and is not considered its predecessor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also handed ribbons bearing honorary brigade names and conferred higher officer ranks in recognition of exemplary service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
