116th Mechanized Brigade is a unit of the Ukrainian \u0421\u0443\u0445\u043e\u043f\u0443\u0442\u043d\u0456 \u0432\u0456\u0439\u0441\u044c\u043a\u0430<\/a>, formed officially on February 15, 2023, on the basis of the 4-\u0439 \u0441\u0442\u0440\u0456\u043b\u0435\u0446\u044c\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u0431\u0430\u0442\u0430\u043b\u044c\u0439\u043e\u043d<\/a> \u0456 10-\u0439 \u0441\u0442\u0440\u0456\u043b\u0435\u0446\u044c\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u0431\u0430\u0442\u0430\u043b\u044c\u0439\u043e\u043d<\/a>, established alongside<\/a> the 117th and 118th Mechanized Brigades under the 10-\u0439 \u0430\u0440\u043c\u0456\u0439\u0441\u044c\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u043a\u043e\u0440\u043f\u0443\u0441<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elements of the brigade underwent training in Poland, while tank and rear units were trained in Ukraine. The brigade\u2019s artillery component was formed with personnel and equipment assigned from the 49-\u0430 \u0430\u0440\u0442\u0438\u043b\u0435\u0440\u0456\u0439\u0441\u044c\u043a\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/a>.

The brigade initially was deployed on april in the Sumy oblast, to guard the state border recently liberated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From may, the brigade operated on the Robotyne axis<\/a> in Zaporizhzhia oblast during the summer offensive, where it sustained heavy casualties.
Reports indicate that some companies were rendered combat ineffective within minutes during intense engagements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In late 2023, the brigade was redeployed to the Avdiivka sector <\/a>of the front, and to the Marinka area up to the following March. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From April 2024 the brigade took part in the offensive operation in the Kursk region, and in June 2024, some units partecipated in the defence of Vovchansk, in Kharkiv oblast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite earlier losses, part of the brigade was subsequently deployed to reinforce Ukrainian positions in Kursk in 2025, and then settled in the newly established area of operation controlled by the reformed 10-\u0439 \u0430\u0440\u043c\u0456\u0439\u0441\u044c\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u043a\u043e\u0440\u043f\u0443\u0441<\/a>, in the eastern flanks of Kupyansk, in Kharkiv oblast.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

During a working trip to the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, the President of Ukraine V. Zelenskyy visited forwarded command post of the 10th Army Corps. He was briefed by the corps commander Serhiy Perets about the situation in the direction of Melitopol, where the corps is deployed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brig. Gen. Serhiy Perets is a former commander of Ukrainian 56th Motorized Brigade (2016 - 2018) and deputy commander of Joint Forces Operation. He now commands the 10th Army Corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visit, he also met with Ukrainian soldiers. Official photos later revealed, at least partly, the composition of 10th Army Corps. The following units were present during the Zelenskyy visit of the corps forwarded command post:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
