68th Airmobile Brigade is a unit of the Air Assault Forces and part of the 8th Air Assault Corps. The unit was established on March 6, 2022 as 68th Jaeger Brigade and composed of thousands of volunteers who were among the first to enlist following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. By March 23, the brigade’s soldiers were already engaging the enemy near the approaches to Vuhledar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In February 2026, the 68th Jaeger Brigade was transfered to Air Assault Forces and reformed as 68th Airmobile Brigade. The commander Lt. Col. Serhiy Tretyak was replaced by Semen Sykolov, who previously served as deputy commander of 25th Airborne Brigade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brigade had previously not been assigned to any of the corps, being subordinated to Operational Command West<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Additionally, on July 22, 2025, images of the 55th Artillery Brigade<\/a> were published by the corps, once again confirming the unit being subordinated to it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The integration of the 55th Artillery Brigade indicates that the 47th Artillery Brigade<\/a>, which is also currently assigned to the corps, will most definitely be reassigned to another formation, which will be seen in the future. Moreover, the 4th Tank Brigade is expected to be reformed into a heavy mechanized unit, which has already been replaced with the reassignment of the 5th Heavy Mechanized Brigade.
