54-\u0430 \u043c\u0435\u0445\u0430\u043d\u0456\u0437\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u0430 \u0431\u0440\u0438\u0433\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/strong> is a unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. It was formed in December 2014 as part of the expansion of the Armed Forces during the ongoing war in Donbas. From its inception, the brigade operated in the Bakhmut area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brigade was formed using battalions transferred from existing units. The 1st Mechanized Battalion was transferred from the 30th Mechanized Brigade, the 2nd Mechanized Battalion from the 24th Mechanized Brigade (formerly its 5th Battalion), and the 3rd Mechanized Battalion from the 17th Tank Brigade (formerly its 1st Battalion). In addition, the 25th Motorized Battalion \u201cKyivska Rus\u201d was placed under the brigade\u2019s command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2016, the 3rd Tank Battalion \u201cZvirobiy\u201d was assigned to the brigade and reorganized into a regular line tank battalion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its creation, the brigade has continuously participated in combat operations. It held defensive positions in the vicinity of Svitlodarsk and, in 2017, took part in the liberation of Hladosove and Travneve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, it became publicly known that the 46th Assault Battalion \u201cDonbas-Ukraine\u201d had also been subordinated to the brigade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On December 27, 2025, following the rapid loss of the city of Siversk in northern Donetsk Oblast, the brigade commander, Colonel Oleksiy Konoval, was removed from his post.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
