A total of 13 corps are being established within the Ground Forces, two within the Air Assault Forces, one in the Marine Corps, and two in the National Guard. Some corps include inactive brigades or units that exist only on paper without actual personnel. It remains unknown what the goal is for these paper brigades. There are also rumors about two corps in the structure of Territorial Defense Forces. Additionally, several newly appointed corps commanders have earned recognition through their leadership at the brigade level. This is a voluntary initiative for Ukrainians aged 18-24 who are ready to join the Defense Forces for one year. After determining the candidate's suitability for military service, the commander of the military unit signs a one-year contract with them. A mandatory condition of the contract is direct participation in combat operations in areas of military (combat) action.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph {\"className\":\"\"} -->\n<p>After signing the contract, the commander issues an order appointing the candidate to the selected or proposed vacant position and officially enlists them in the military unit, providing all necessary support and resources. Additionally, within three working days, the commander must inform the head of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, where the individual is registered for military service, as well as their employer, about their enlistment. The <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/territorial-defense-forces\/1st-special-purpose-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"15903\">1st Territorial Defense Brigade<\/a> was also active around the northern border and appears to be temporarily assigned under the corps. More recently, the corps' social channels also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/15armycorps\/posts\/pfbid02u4DGguTK9Gh9ychNeTPV7Zc99B4zEJZ2Jmz4KbVp9bHFwv66ieSxwKfmcwFiK5PTl\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/15armycorps\/posts\/pfbid02u4DGguTK9Gh9ychNeTPV7Zc99B4zEJZ2Jmz4KbVp9bHFwv66ieSxwKfmcwFiK5PTl\">confirmed <\/a>that the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/border-guards\/chernihiv-border-detachment\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"35205\">Chernihiv Border Detachment<\/a> was temporarily assigned under its command.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The 10th Mountain Assault Brigade reportedly helped to form the basis of the corps and continues to carry out combat operations in the Siversk direction. The <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/44th-artillery-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"16673\">44th Artillery Brigade<\/a>, previously part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/17th-army-corps\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"45088\">17th Army Corps<\/a>, was recently reassigned to the 15th Army Corps following the newly established <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/54th-artillery-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"63941\">54th Artillery Brigade<\/a>. The brigade continues to provide support in the Zaporizhzhia direction, fighting in the Orikhiv direction.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Newly formed units such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/129th-territorial-defense-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"18780\">129th Heavy Mechanized Brigade<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryland.net\/ukraine\/armed-forces\/158th-mechanized-brigade\/\" data-type=\"unit\" data-id=\"31871\">158th Mechanized Brigade<\/a> have also been assigned to the corps, with both units predominantly fighting in Sumy Oblast, and some elements of the 129th fighting in Kharkiv Oblast, with elements now starting to enter the rear.
