Another Unmanned Systems Battalion has been expanded, with the 423-\u0439 \u0431\u0430\u0442\u0430\u043b\u044c\u0439\u043e\u043d \u0431\u0435\u0437\u043f\u0456\u043b\u043e\u0442\u043d\u0438\u0445 \u0441\u0438\u0441\u0442\u0435\u043c<\/a> “Scythian Griffins” of the 20-\u0439 \u0430\u0440\u043c\u0456\u0439\u0441\u044c\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u043a\u043e\u0440\u043f\u0443\u0441<\/a> reorganized into a regiment, further strengthening the corps’ drone warfare capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The expansion was confirmed by the unit itself through its official social media channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of August 2026, the 423rd Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion \u201cScythian Griffins\u201d has been reorganized and expanded to the scale of a regiment. Lieutenant Colonel Vitaliy Hersak of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the initiator of our unit\u2019s creation and its long-standing leader, has been appointed commander.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Under Hersak’s leadership, the unit grew from a small unmanned systems detachment into a regiment in less than two years. During that period, the unit’s personnel increased nearly twentyfold while developing its own engineering and design center, experimental production facilities for unmanned aerial vehicles, munitions, workshops, and training infrastructure. The regiment also states it fields experienced crews capable of operating a wide range of modern systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the implementation of new systems, they have become one of the most effective units within the \u041e\u043f\u0435\u0440\u0430\u0442\u0438\u0432\u043d\u0435 \u043a\u043e\u043c\u0430\u043d\u0434\u0443\u0432\u0430\u043d\u043d\u044f \u041f\u0456\u0432\u0434\u0435\u043d\u044c<\/a> and the entirety of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, MilitaryLand reported that the 433-\u0439 \u0431\u0430\u0442\u0430\u043b\u044c\u0439\u043e\u043d \u0431\u0435\u0437\u043f\u0456\u043b\u043e\u0442\u043d\u0438\u0445 \u0441\u0438\u0441\u0442\u0435\u043c<\/a> \u043f\u0440\u043e \u0440\u043e\u0437\u0448\u0438\u0440\u0435\u043d\u043d\u044f 21-\u0439 \u0430\u0440\u043c\u0456\u0439\u0441\u044c\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u043a\u043e\u0440\u043f\u0443\u0441<\/a> had also been expanded into a regiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
