In 2014, as a tank company commander, he took part in the war in Donbas. His tank was the first to enter the liberated city of Slovyansk on July 5, 2014, and he participated in a 470-kilometer raid alongside airborne troops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2015, Sidorov was appointed commander of a tank battalion. Three years later, in 2018, he became deputy commander of the 1st Tank Brigade, where he faced Russian invasion forces in 2022. In 2023, he was appointed commander of the 17th Tank Brigade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February 2024, he assumed command of the 32nd Mechanized Brigade. In June 2024, Sidorov was appointed commander of the 14th Mechanized Brigade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly after his appointment, in July 2024, a group of soldiers from the brigade <a href=\"https:\/\/inforesist.org\/bojczy-14-ombr-pozhalovalis-na-novogo-kombriga-sidorova-i-bolshie-poteri-lichnogo-sostava\/\">recorded a video message<\/a> calling for intervention, claiming that Sidorov\u2019s decisions had led to a significant increase in casualties.
