As part of the ongoing military-wide reform within the Ukrainian Defense Forces, many units are undergoing significant restructuring \u2014 including expansions, downgrades, or complete reorganization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On August 2, 2025, the 63rd Mechanized Brigade<\/a> of the Ukrainian Ground Forces officially announced a major transformation of its organizational structure and battalion numbering system. Previously, the brigade operated with a mix of separate mechanized and rifle battalions that were not organized linearly. This atypical structure was characteristic of the 60th, 61st, 62nd, and 63rd Mechanized Brigades.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe current restructuring changes within the brigade are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n105th Mechanized Battalion \u2192 1st Mechanized Battalion<\/li>\n\n\n\n106th Mechanized Battalion \u2192 2nd Mechanized Battalion<\/li>\n\n\n\n107th Mechanized Battalion \u2192 3rd Mechanized Battalion<\/li>\n\n\n\n51st Rifle Battalion \u2192 Motorized Battalion<\/li>\n\n\n\n55th Rifle Battalion \u2192 Rifle Battalion<\/li>\n\n\n\n38th and 41st Artillery Divisions \u2192 Artillery Group<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\nAll of the above-mentioned units have ceased to exist as separate entities and have been integrated as linear components of the 63rd Mechanized Brigade. These changes were long overdue and are expected to help streamline the brigade\u2019s command hierarchy.
