The battalion was established in April 2022. Between May and July 2022, it was deployed to the Bakhmut area, where it engaged in intense combat operations against Wagner Group mercenaries.

From September 6 to October 2, 2022, the battalion participated in the Kharkiv counteroffensive.

Since December 2022, the battalion has been continuously involved in defensive operations in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

In July 2025, the battalion was reformed into a linear motorized battalion of the 115th Mechanized Brigade and ceased to exist as a separate unit.
