71-а аеромобільна бригада підрозділ Десантно-штурмових військ Збройних сил України.
Підрозділ був сформований як 71-а єгерська бригада, under the Ukrainian Ground Forces, following the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
In April 2022, the unit was deployed to Kharkiv Oblast, performing combat missions against Russian Forces. In June 2022, it was redeployed to the Donbas.
In September 2022, the unit was poised to go on the offensive in the Kharkiv direction, which would become famously known as the Kharkiv offensive, aimed at liberating the city of Kupyansk and the rest of the region.
Between September 5 and September 8, 2022, soldiers of the brigade crossed the Seversky Donets River and led an offensive on Balakliya from the direction of Husarivka, where other units like the Kraken Special Unit would also participate in the liberation of the city.
These actions became part of the legendary breakthrough of Ukrainian troops, which forced the occupiers to flee Kharkiv Oblast in panic.
In October 2022, seven months after its formation, the brigade was reassigned under the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, which also began to see expansion with new units such as the 77-а аеромобільна бригада.
Beginning October 20, 2022, the unit was redeployed to the Bakhmut direction; which began to gradually deteriorate due to an increase of Russian forces concentrated on the area, and later, mercenaries from the Wagner Private Military Company.
In December 2022, it repelled units of a Wagner Assault Detachment as well as reinforcements from the Russian 31st Airborne Brigade on the outskirts of Bakhmut.
In January 2023, following its deployment in Bakhmut, it was redeployed to the Kreminna direction.
During the deterioration of the situation in Avdiivka, Donetsk Oblast, it participated in the defense of the city in its last few months, one of the most difficult areas, due to a massive concentration of Russian forces.
In April 2025, the brigade became part of the newly formed 8th Air Assault Corps.
In December 2022, the brigade was awarded “For Courage and Bravery” by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In January 2026, the brigade was reformed into an Airmobile unit, becoming the 71-а аеромобільна бригада.
