Україна погодилася обмежити чисельність своїх Збройних сил до запропонованих 800 000 чоловік, Financial Times повідомляє, з посиланням на високопосадовців. Однак ключові питання - територіальні питання та гарантії безпеки - залишаються невирішеними.
Спочатку мирний план, запропонований президентом США Трампом, передбачав обмеження чисельності українських військових на рівні 600 000 осіб - пропозиція, яку широко критикували за те, що вона занадто тісно пов'язана з російськими вимогами.

Нещодавно обговорена і, як повідомляється, прийнята цифра 800 000 все одно залишить Україну з найбільшими збройними силами в Європі. Сьогодні Збройні сили України налічують близько 900 000 військовослужбовців.
Наразі Росія офіційно не отримала переглянуту мирну пропозицію, а українська влада публічно не підтвердила угоду.
Армія потребує перепочинку
Умови на полі бою продовжують змінюватися на користь ворога, оскільки Україна бореться з найбільш критичним дефіцитом - кадрами. Сили оборони терміново потребують паузи для перегрупування, консолідації підрозділів, побудови багатошарових оборонних систем та підготовки до наступного етапу війни - особливо під керівництвом нового Головнокомандувача.
Хоча Росія також виграє від припинення вогню, пауза необхідна для того, щоб не дати російським військам зайняти вигідні позиції під Запоріжжям і просунутися вглиб України.

Traitor Trump wants Ukraine to capitulate. There is not a single russian concession in the plan he “proposed” (copied from the Russians is more accurate). Russia shall not be allowed to occupy any part of Ukraine, period. Russia shall be punished for this invasion, not rewarded as the traitor wants.
Your claim that “there is not a single Russian concession” is inaccurate. The Trump plan would require Russia to halt its push for the rest of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, and possibly to withdraw from roughly 2,000 km² taken in Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. Ukraine would keep 80% of its territory. Europe’s stubbornness will prolong the war and help Russia.
“halt its push” is not a concession. “Withdrawing from less than 2000 km2 without any major city” would be a very small concession if Russians weren’t asking Ukraine to withdrawing from more than 6000 km2 with 3 major city at the same time. And Putin can stop the war at any time by pulling his troops out of Ukraine. As always, you are only repeating Russian propaganda.

The aggressor would get territories, that they don’t have yet, and it would take years and massive casualties to take. Territories that include industrial centers with hundreds of thousands of people. The territories russia would give back are a bunch of very small villiges. In no way they are comparable in worth.
Plus, the fortifications of the Donbas line around Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. Ukriane would give all that up in exchange for fields and very small villages close to the border, that are hard to defend anyway. Wanna talk about “disconnection from reality”? Check yourself!
UA would get a much better deal now than in 6 months or 1 year because the RU army will just keep advancing. You can be denial if you want.
There is no better deal. There never was, nor will be. The russians accept nothing short of an ukrainian capitulation. They have not moved one millimetre from their maximalist demands. They want sovereignty over Ukraine and Ukraine is not at a point where they have to give in to that.
To every peace proposal, that was not a russain wishlist, the russians have said no and added more unacceptable demands, because they don’t want peace. They believe they can outlast the will of the ukrainians, or at least the will of the western supporters. Every proposal by them is just a means to buy time for more conquests.
At this point, every proposal by Ukraine or the EU is not for Russia, but for the orange manchild in the White House, so he feels validated and finatly puts pressure on the aggressor and not the victim.
The russian army is “advancing” in groups of max 4 people, on foot, which slip through between ukrainian positions. The one or two that maybe survive reach a place to hide, where they wait for more infiltrators. Luckly for them is that Ukraine lacks the infantry to man the whole front and to clear them all out.
Russia is pushing forward and has no need to talk. Europe torpedoing Trump’s plan is exactly what Moscow wants.

First of all, it’s not Trump’s plan. It’s was whiped up by Witkoff with the russians and we have conflicting messaging if its the US plan or not. Secondly, how is europe torpedoing that “plan”, if russia is the side that is refusing to move from its maximalist demands? Russia beliefs it can take everything by force and sees no need for a settlement, which doesn’t give them 100% what they want.
If the plan was supposedly “cooked up with the Russians,” then why does it call for freezing the line of contact in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions – territories that Russia claims in full? How does that align with the idea that Russia isn’t budging from “maximalist demands”?
1: Because Russia just wants to charm Trump and knew that EU und Ukraine would engage in diplomacy and that there would be changes that Russia rejects. To the first version, Russia said that it was nice but not good enough.
2: They want a plan in which they would get either everything immediately, or a plan that weakens Ukraine to the point in which Russia just takes the rest 2 or 4 years later.

Its not like a real estate deal in which you have a seller and buyer and both want a deal and the real-estate agent just has to bring both sides to a middle ground.The positions of Russia and Ukraine are polar opposites. Russia wants sovereignty over Ukraine and Ukraine is not at a point where they have to give in to that.

The 900,000 figure is grossly exaggerated; even 800,000 is inflated. So the idea of “limiting” the force to that level is laughable.
It’s supposed to be the max. peacetime strength. It is unrealistic for Ukraine to maintain a permanent armed force of 800,000 soldiers. That is simply too expensive. This number provides a good amount of room for growth should the Russians conduct “exercises” near the border again. If Ukraine feels threatened, it can call up reservists and thus reach 800,000 troops without violating the agreement.
yes but it’s a distortion that the media happily disseminates. It’s not about ‘limiting’ the current levels it’s about increasing them.
“distortion” is negative word. Take it as a verbal concession to Russia, without actually weakening Ukraine. Ukraine needs a strong military, in order to deter russia. This seeks to provide Ukraine with the room to have the numbers ready, before the russians attack again and without breaking the agreement, thus forfeiting the guarantees.
With the problem with new recruits it looks like Ukraine don’t need to cut its forces at all lol. But to be fair it’s not too bad if they cant continue the war in the operational sense.
