At a meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine, Nebenzya called on Kiev and the West to “expect the worst news in the near future.”
At such level that must be taken seriously. Ukraine must beef up it’s air defenses, because today was a total disaster. You shouldn’t allow the Russians to hit anywhere in the UA or you won’t have a safe space for training.
Nebenzya is just as mendacious as Shoigu, Medvedev and Lavrov. Nebenzya also has the extraordinary gift of constantly blocking decisions in the UN Security Council, slowing it down and pushing RUS into insignificance due to its lack of willingness to compromise. But all four have one thing in common: they hang in Putin’s ass like cockroaches.
The statement is out of the ordinary that is why I mention it. Such words coming out of Russian officials other than mad dog Medvedev and Islamist fuck Kadirov are not normal occurrence. Shoigu is a puppet he is not really in charge of anything. Lavrov is arguably the best diplomat in the world, like him or not.

well, estimated percentage is round 70, thats below long term ratio (80 plus, not so rare with 90), also casualty with 30 dead stands out as well. 72% is fine, since there were many s300 and ballistics included, which cannot be intercepted and large attacks are also harder to intercept. It is war, many people die each day. 30 more is really nothing for 1.4 billion dollars worth in missiles. The big news is, that the ukrainian grid is fine. It looks like Ukraine can deter Russia away from civilian infrastructure.
122 missiles, 88 downed, 32 were hard to intercept missiles, 5 kinzhal, s 300 400, x22, etc.. If you would subtract the 32 you are at 88 of 90. ISW actually says Ukraine didn’t intercept any of those…

Russia is killing ukrainian civilians every single day of this war. You can call me cynical if you like, but this is war and no joke. Something like 100k Ukrainian dead, a third of which civilians. This is war, people die. If Russia wants to spend its missiles on killing civilians, Ukraine can’t stop them. But stopping them from going for its grid is still a big victory.

But you MUST be care about history. Without the past there is no present and future, you will make the same mistakes as before. History should have taught you one thing: just don’t touch Russia, don’t attack it, don’t provoke it. But you haven’t learned this lesson and are stepping “on the rake” again.
The past is gone, the future is made now. Everyone learns from history what he wants to learn or explain or excuse. You probably saw this: according to Russia’s defense ministry, over 640,000 contract soldiers serve in the Russian military.
You probably know this: Russian MOD are liars. The actual number of Russians troops in Ukraine is estimated around 400 000.
You’re so easily getting carried away by your compulsion to bash everything Russian that you can’t even read properly. 640,000 is the reported number of soldiers under contract, not all of whom are in Ukraine.

In March 2023 (according to the leaked Pentagon documents), the US estimated than more than 90% of the russian army battalions were in Ukraine. On dec. 14th, Putin (who is also a liar) said there are 617 000 russian soldiers in Ukraine.
Most official figures say that RU has a total of about 850,000 active soldiers, of which 200,000 are conscripts. So 640,000 can be relatively accurate.
The question I ask myself, however, is whether mobilized soldiers (prisoners, forcibly recruited) appear in these statistics. But 90% of it in UA cannot be true. There are RU soldiers in Syria, Belarus and other countries,
… Navy outside the Black Sea, Kaliningrad, military schools, barracks protection, repairs, internal security, missile forces, etc.
If 90% were in the UA, Russia would be pretty defenseless at home. Then you could now attack RUS with a counterstrike without them being able to defend themselves.

And it is 90% of the army battalions (BTG), it doesnt include the navy, air force and so on.
I agree that 90% of Russia’s contract soldiers cannot be in UA and that US intelligence has unfortunately proven to be much less reliable than generally thought.

Putin did not say there were 617,000 professional soldiers (i.e. UNDER CONTRACT) in Ukraine.
