- Українські війська увійшли в селище Берхівка і частково зачистили його. Пізніше російські війська контратакували і відтіснили захисників до західних околиць. Селище залишається спірним. (джерело)
- Російська артилерія обстріляла свої попередні позиції на захід від Кліщіївки, що свідчить про подальше просування українських військ у цьому районі. Цілком ймовірно, що українські сили контролюють більшість укріплених позицій, що виходять на цей населений пункт. (джерело)

Bucharest 2.0: No NATO but hey, we will keep giving you weapons, which we allready do since 1,5 years. So basically Ukraine didn’t hear anything new. Same, same but different. Shame on that American weakness.
While I am at it: where are the atacms, the Abrams, the f16s? If I d be china I would smell the fear and decline in the water.

Ukrain will recept more and best material during this year and next year.
NATO has said since the beginning of the war that no country can be accepted in which there is a conflict. Why should NATO only change its rules for Ukraine. Also, admitting Ukraine now would mean that NATO is actively waging war against Russia, which has the potential for a world war. You would definitely be one of the first to hide in your basement.
There is no such a “rule of NATO”, it was mainly repeated by sleepy Biden since the beginning of the war. The Vilnius summit could have decided that Ukraine will get special membership status or some other formulation. The current one is actually just nothing. Damn I’ve just spent 1,5 hours because the traffic was stopped in Vilnius for this senseless summit
And indeed NATO could have invited Ukraine to join as soon as the war is over. But that’s all not the real point, the whole wording is so obviously shady that anyone can see that some wanted opportunities open to never let Ukraine in. And those were the USA and Germany. It is a shame.
And it is not just USA and Germany. Don’t forget that when accepting a new country to the NATO, each old member has veto right. Hungary has declared already in 2015 that it will veto it, because of the suppression of the Hungarian minority in Ukraine.
It only take one NATO country to object to Ukraines membership.

Iwould personally look at the ‘dates of supposed delivery’, which even if infuriating at the 1st glance (because Ukr needs this now) are the info for RU. as: ‘at least until XXXX strategy of waiting us out won’t work’.
there was a lot of drama about RU casualities. So here we are. Mediazona&Meduza put out the paper [ENG: https://meduza.io/en/feature/2023/07/10/bring-out-your-dead ] collecting the data about that. According to the study ~40k is the absolute floor leaning to ~50k KIA alone.
Study does not aquits for MIA (which is a serious and ever growing black hole) nor WIA.
MIA means or not reported means commanders can still claim for soldiers wages.
“Waning western support”
Yeah right, as long as Russia doesn’t leave Ukraine Russians will have to keep dying on the front. We’re ready to keep supporting Ukraine as long as it takes. The longer Russia continues this senseless war the more powerful the weapons Ukraine will get, while Europe & North America are increasing weapons production at a staggering rate
So what was supposed to be a “special military operation” that was intended to take no more than two weeks to complete has now been dragging on for over 500 days and counting. Regardless of how this war ultimately ends, one thing is for sure: The initial invasion will go down in military history as a major example of what NOT to do when it comes to military planning.
Arestovych claiming they will break through eventually, but remembering his claims during Sievierodonetsk siege makes me cautious. On the other side, committing almost whole VDV corps up north (Bachmut and Kreminna) makes elite reinforcements bolstering rather complicated. Lets see by mid SEP then if Cherson scenario could be replicated in a attrition wise scale while not being backed by the river

RU advanced slowly but strongly. And they they still advancing. yes look at novozelike. They took the outdoor wc in the garden of grandpa ivanov. A great strategic progress . No, dont look what happens in other parts of the front.
AFU counter attacks fail. its to slow. And ru have magic defense lign. Its why they counterattacks in defavorable condition.

The fact that UKR forces liberated as much territory (about 200 km2) in 5 weeks that it took the Russians 6 months to conquer simply means that Russians conquered nothing the last 6 months.
And yes, 200 km2 is nothing. It’s about 1% of the territory Ukraine liberated during its counteroffensive last autumn.

In five weeks Ukraine moved avarage 6 km in certain places and liberated few villiges. seriously its nothing. but media as you here are making some bullshit comparisons. why you are affraid to say truth? it is the same as rus are doing -keep saying that everything is going as planned. when they hit western tank the same big success when that was nothing.

He wouldnt even care UA liberated 41% of its occupied teritorry already (counting in Crimea in the total too) and stopped losing territory since then (except Bachmut and Kreminna area), he will be still cocky with 100k km2 that new order USSR still got in possesion. However, one should also pay attention to which territories it is. On one side Artyomovsk and Soledar, on the other desolate fields and a few tiny insignificant settlements.
Yes, UA are on the way to liberate bakmut and soledar. But its not the major objectiv.
And yes kremina area is desolate after months of war. Here both camp exchange territories regulary. But they are not able to take advantage andcross the river.
It was more about things already done, but yes, it shouldn’t be a problem to do this in no time because most fortifications and underground facilities are now destroyed.
the thing is. Ukraine is a HUGE nation. where it does not matter how much you conquer, but what you conquer. the germans learned that lesson the hard way during WW2.
you can conquer 1000km2 but if you didn’t get that one very important village/city or whatever, your whole advance is useless.
as one UKR sodier said ”it’s like chess, where only villages are traded” (or some in that line)
