Олег Апостол

He graduated from the National Academy of the Ground Forces in 2008 and began his military service in the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces. Following the outbreak of the Russo-Ukrainian War in 2014, he was deployed to Donbas, where he participated in the liberation of Slovyansk, the defense of Luhansk Airport, and numerous other key battles in eastern Ukraine. In 2018, he assumed command of a battalion within the 80-а десантно-штурмова бригада.

Following the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, he led his unit in the defense and subsequent liberation of parts of Mykolaiv Oblast. His leadership during the campaign contributed to the brigade’s continued combat effectiveness throughout the southern theater of operations. In February 2024, he was appointed commander of the 95-та десантно-штурмова бригада. In June 2025, he assumed command of the Air Assault Forces.
