Mykola Kushch
Known by his callsign “Frost” and online alias “Mr. Frostovik”, he has gained widespread recognition in recent years. He joined the Azov Regiment at the age of 18 before the full-scale invasion, serving as a machine gunner. He fought during the War in Donbas, following the full-scale invasion, he defended Mariupol, and later held the line at Azovstal. Captured by Russian forces, he was sentenced to death by pro-Russian and Russian authorities, but was released in September 2022 in a prisoner exchange with 214 other Ukrainian servicemen.
Since his release, he has shared his harrowing experiences from Azovstal and captivity. He now commands the Pirates Reconnaissance Group in the Azov Brigade. He has led operations in the Kreminna and Toretsk sectors.
