Operation Report 2019 – Week #41

Operation Report is a summary of what happened in Joint Forces Operation Zone (previously known as Anti-Terrorist Operation zone or ATO) during the last week.

Casualties

October 10, 2019

  • Volk Yuriy (36th Marine Corps Brigade) a senior soldier. He was killed by an enemy sniper at the frontline. The exact place is unknown.

October 11, 2019

  • Kubrak V’yacheslav (36th Marine Corps Brigade) a platoon commander. He was wounded by an explosive device during a reconnaissance mission on October 10. He died at Mechnikov hospital a day later.

Military

28th Mechanized Brigade received Warta vehicles

On October 11, Artillery Group of 28th Mechanized Brigade received armoured vehicles of Ukrainian production, Warta. The vehicle is built on the chassis of truck MAZ-5434 and was initially developed for Kord, a special force unit of Ukrainian Police. However, Warta was later also adopted by the National Guard and Ukrainian Army.
