Special police company Kherson celebrates its creation. The former volunteer battalion continues to serve under the National Police.
Company Kherson (previously known as Kherson Battalion) was a volunteer battalion formed under the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2014. They participated in the battle of Illovaysk, where they lost the battalion’s commander and briefly served under the command of Donbas battalion. In 2016, the battalion was reformed to company and assigned under the command of the National Police of Ukraine. They continue to serve on the border with Crimea and in Donbas but don’t participate in active hostilities.
